Dog Bumps

We watched a fascinating show on Nova about the Genetics of Dogs.

Now, this show touches on how humans affected dog genetics by providing a niche for them that has allowed them an opportunity to really thrive in the world.  I have to wonder what effects dogs have had on human genetics.

They've been our companions for 30,000 years.  For Comparison, Neanderthals were only 50,000 years ago.  How have we changed in the last 30,000 years and how much of that is due to developing a closer relationship with dogs?

If you think about it:  A stone age man has a huge survival advantage if he has a dog.

What would Darwin say about dog owners vs non-dog owners?
